Depending on your arrival time, you can take a gentle walk along Negombo Beach, explore the vibrant fish market, or visit the Dutch Fort and the scenic Hamilton Canal, once used by colonial powers to transport goods inland.

Here, you'll visit the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, the world’s oldest historically documented tree, grown from a sampling of the tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment. Wander among the ruins of age-old monasteries, intricately designed stone baths, and soaring stupas such as Ruwanwelisaya and Jetavanaramaya, marveling at their scale and sacred beauty.

Don’t miss the exquisite rock carving of the Isurumuniya Lovers, a romantic symbol etched in stone, or the awe-inspiring Aukana Buddha statue, a 12-meter-high masterpiece of serenity and spiritual grace carved out of solid granite. The serenity and craftsmanship of this statue are truly unforgettable.
