Day 01: Airport – Negombo
Welcome to Sri Lanka! Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be transferred to the charming coastal town of Negombo, located just a short distance away. Depending on your arrival time, a Negombo city tour can be arranged.

Negombo offers a delightful blend of colonial history, natural beauty, and local culture, making it the perfect place to begin your holiday. You can take a leisurely stroll along the golden sands of Negombo Beach, known for its calm waters and vibrant sunsets.

For history enthusiasts, the Dutch Fort—a remnant of the colonial era—offers a fascinating glimpse into the town’s past. You may also visit the Negombo Lagoon, a haven for birdwatchers and a great place to witness traditional Sri Lankan fishing methods.

In the evening, visit St. Mary’s Church, an architectural gem famed for its beautifully painted interior.

Day 02: Negombo - Anuradhapura
After breakfast, head towards Anuradhapura, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and the first ancient capital of Sri Lanka.
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is filled with archaeological wonders. Visit the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi Tree, said to be a sapling from the original Bodhi Tree in Bodh Gaya, India, under which the Buddha attained enlightenment.
Marvel at the massive Ruwanwelisaya Stupa, a gleaming white dagoba built by King Dutugemunu, and Jetavanaramaya, which was once one of the tallest structures in the ancient world. Explore Abhayagiri Monastery, Thuparamaya, and ancient royal gardens, as well as complex irrigation systems like Tissa Wewa, all reflecting the sophisticated engineering and spiritual devotion of early Sri Lankan civilization.

Day 03: Anuradhapura - Jaffna
Today, venture further north to the vibrant cultural city of Jaffna.
With its rich Tamil heritage, colonial past, and unique identity, Jaffna offers a different cultural lens on Sri Lanka. Upon arrival, explore the Jaffna Fort, originally built by the Portuguese and later expanded by the Dutch. Stroll through the bustling Jaffna market filled with local produce and spices, and visit the historic Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil, one of the most important Hindu temples in the country, famed for its towering gopuram and colorful ceremonies.

Day 04: Jaffna
Spend the day discovering more of Jaffna’s hidden gems.
Visit the serene Nagadeepa Purana Vihara, a sacred Buddhist temple located on Nainativu Island, accessible by a scenic boat ride. Later, explore Keerimalai Springs, a natural spring believed to have healing properties, and stroll along the scenic coastlines of Point Pedro, the northernmost tip of Sri Lanka.
In the evening, sample some authentic Jaffna cuisine, featuring spicy seafood curries and traditional Tamil dishes.

Day 05: Jaffna - Trincomalee
On the 5th day, travel along the eastern coastline to Trincomalee, a historic harbor town.
Visit Koneswaram Temple, dramatically perched on Swami Rock overlooking the Indian Ocean—a site sacred to Hindus and known as the “Temple of a Thousand Pillars.” Explore Fort Frederick, where deer freely roam the ramparts. Spend your evening at Nilaveli Beach, ideal for swimming and relaxation.
Optional: Enjoy a boat ride to Pigeon Island National Park (seasonal), known for snorkeling and coral reefs.

Day 06: Trincomalee - Polonnaruwa
Head inland to Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka’s second ancient capital.
Begin your tour at the Royal Palace Complex, once a majestic seven-story palace. Visit Gal Vihara, famous for its enormous rock-cut Buddha statues in different postures—seated, standing, and reclining. Walk through the Vatadage, a circular relic house that still echoes with spiritual energy. Discover the Parakrama Samudraya, an immense man-made lake built by King Parakramabahu to showcase his engineering genius.

Day 07: Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya / Habarana
On day Seven, you’ll visit Sigiriya, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic landmarks.
The Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an ancient palace built atop a massive granite outcrop. The journey to the top involves a climb of over 1,200 steps, but the panoramic views from the summit are absolutely worth it. On your ascent, you’ll pass by the stunning frescoes of the Sigiriya Maidens, painted on the rock face. At the summit, explore the ruins of the ancient royal palace, the Lion’s Gate, and the Mirror Wall—a polished surface where visitors would once inscribe poetry.
Afterward, visit the nearby Dambulla Cave Temple, a sacred site with five caves filled with over 150 Buddha statues and beautiful murals that date back to the 1st century BC.

Day 08: Sigiriya / Habarana
Today is dedicated to exploring more of the cultural treasures around Sigiriya and Dambulla.
You’ll begin by visiting the Dambulla Cave Temple, one of the most impressive cave complexes in Sri Lanka, with Buddhist murals and statues scattered across five caves.
You will have an optional activity to visit Minneriya National Park, a haven for wildlife, particularly known for its herds of elephants. The park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with numerous species of birds populating the lush landscapes.
Later in the day, enjoy a visit to Pidurangala Rock, another incredible viewpoint offering sweeping vistas of the surrounding landscape, including Sigiriya Rock.

Day 09: Sigiriya / Habarana - Kandy
Today, you will travel to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka and home to the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa). Along the way, stop at a spice garden in Matale, where you can learn about the fragrant spices that have been a part of Sri Lankan cuisine and medicine for centuries.
After lunch, explore the beautifully landscaped Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, home to over 4,000 species of plants including majestic palm avenues and colorful orchids.
Once you arrive in Kandy, visit the world-famous Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, which houses the tooth of Lord Buddha and is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Buddhists. Explore the temple complex, learn about its significance, and observe the religious rituals and daily ceremonies.
In the evening, witness a vibrant cultural show, featuring traditional Kandyan dances, firewalking, and drumming performances that bring to life Sri Lanka’s rich heritage.

Day 10: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka’s hill country known for its temperate climate and colonial charm.
Nuwara Eliya is often referred to as “Little England” due to its colonial architecture and cool weather. Visit Gregory Lake, a picturesque spot where you can enjoy a boat ride, or simply relax by the lakeside. The Victoria Park is a tranquil escape with gardens and walking paths. Nuwara Eliya is also renowned for its tea plantations, so visit one to see the tea production process firsthand and taste some of Sri Lanka’s finest tea.

Day 11: Nuwara Eliya - Ella
Today, head to the peaceful village of Ella, nestled in the southern highlands.
The journey will take you through lush tea plantations and breathtaking mountain views. Once in Ella, take a short hike to Ella Rock, a relatively easy trek that rewards you with sweeping views of the valleys below. Another highlight in the area is the Nine Arches Bridge, a colonial-era railway bridge set against a backdrop of lush greenery. This spot is particularly famous for photography, especially when trains cross the bridge.

Day 12: Ella - Yala
Today, you’ll travel south to Yala National Park, one of the most famous wildlife reserves in Sri Lanka. Along the way, you will visit Rawana Falls.

Yala is renowned for its population of leopards and also offers incredible opportunities to see elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and a wide variety of bird species. A thrilling safari ride through the park will give you the chance to spot these magnificent animals in their natural habitat. Yala also features diverse landscapes, including forests, wetlands, and coastal plains, making it a fascinating place to explore.

Day 13: Yala - Mirissa
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive along Sri Lanka’s southern coastline to reach Mirissa, a tranquil coastal town famed for its crescent-shaped beach and laid-back atmosphere.
Check into your beachfront hotel and spend the afternoon unwinding—whether you're lounging under a palm tree, dipping into the warm Indian Ocean, or trying fresh tropical fruits by the shore. If you're feeling adventurous, climb Coconut Tree Hill for panoramic ocean views or explore Secret Beach, a quiet, hidden cove perfect for swimming and relaxing. In the evening, enjoy a candlelit seafood dinner right on the sand as waves gently lap the shore.

Day 14: Mirissa - Bentota

Day 15: Bentota - Colombo
You will make your way to Colombo, the bustling capital city of Sri Lanka. Begin your tour with a visit to the Gangaramaya Temple, a Buddhist temple known for its eclectic mix of modern and traditional architecture, and its vast collection of antiques.
The National Museum of Colombo & Independence Square is a great place to explore Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage, featuring artifacts from the ancient kingdoms to the colonial era. Take a stroll through Colombo Fort, the city's commercial heart, with modern shopping malls and colonial buildings.
As the day comes to an end, you’ll be transferred to the hotel for a relaxing full night.

Day 16: Colombo - Departure
Farewell to Sri Lanka!
Depending on your flight time, you might have some free time in Colombo for last-minute shopping or sightseeing before being transferred to the airport for your departure. Reflect on the beautiful memories as you bid farewell to this enchanting island.
